Who we are
Acorn is software for running a real estate media business: booking shoots, scheduling photographers, producing the work and delivering it to clients. It is built and operated by Snap Squirrel, Mahomet, Illinois(“we”). This policy covers Acorn at acorn.snapsquirrel.com and on the domains of companies that use it.
Questions or requests: acorn@snapsquirrel.com.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, and the company and role you belong to.
- Orders: property addresses, appointment times, products ordered, answers to booking questions, access instructions, messages, and the people involved in each order.
- Media: the photos, video, floor plans and other files produced for an order.
- Payments: invoices and payment status. Card details are entered with and held by Stripe; we never see or store a full card number.
- Technical data: sign-in sessions, the device’s notification subscription if you turn notifications on, and standard server logs.
- Google Calendar data, only if you connect a calendar. See the next section.
Google user data
Connecting a Google Calendar is optional and available to team members such as photographers. Here is exactly what Acorn asks Google for and what it does with it. Acorn asks only to read; it cannot create, change or delete anything on your Google Calendar, and does not ask for permission to.
What we access
- Your Google account email address (the
openidandemailpermissions), shown in Acorn so you can see which account is connected. - Your free/busy times (
calendar.freebusy): the start and end of each period you are busy over the next 60 days. This permission does not include event titles, descriptions, locations or guests, so Acorn never receives them.
How we use it
- Busy times are used only to avoid offering or assigning a shoot at a time you are already busy.
- Google user data is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not used to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
- Nobody at Snap Squirrel reads your Google data, except where you ask us to for support, where it is needed for security or to comply with the law.
Sharing
Your busy times are stored with your company’s Acorn account, as start and end times with no other details, and are used by its scheduling. We do not share Google user data with anyone else, except the hosting providers listed below that store it on our behalf, or where required by law.
Storage and security
The access credentials Google issues are stored in our database, encrypted at rest, and can be read only by Acorn’s servers — not by other users, including your company’s administrators. All traffic to Google and to Acorn is encrypted in transit.
Keeping and deleting it
- Busy times are refreshed about every 15 minutes while you are connected.
- When you disconnect, we delete your Google credentials and all future busy times immediately, and stop reading your calendar.
- You can also remove Acorn’s access from your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To have every piece of Google data we hold about you deleted, including past busy times, email acorn@snapsquirrel.com. We do it within 30 days.
Acorn’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your jobs on your calendar
Separately from Google, each team member can add their own shoots to any calendar app using a private subscription link from Acorn. Their calendar app fetches the link from Acorn; nothing is sent to Google or anyone else by us, and no Google permission is involved. The events contain the property address, its access notes (such as lockbox and gate codes), who ordered the shoot, what was ordered, the client’s answers to booking questions and a link back to the order. Phone numbers and pay are left out. Anyone holding the link can read it, so it can be replaced at any time from My profile, which stops the old one working.
How we use information
To run the service: take and schedule orders, assign and pay team members, produce and deliver media, send invoices and receipts, send the emails and notifications you would expect about an order, keep accounts secure, and fix problems. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Companies that use Acorn
Acorn is used by real estate media companies to serve their own clients. Order and client information a company enters belongs to that company, and they decide who on their team can see it. If you are a client of one of those companies, you can also contact them directly about your information.
Service providers
We use these providers to run Acorn. Each handles data only on our behalf.
- Supabase: database and sign-in
- Vercel: application hosting
- Cloudflare: storage and delivery of media files
- Stripe: card payments
- Resend: email delivery
- Google Maps: addresses and drive times
- fal.ai: optional AI editing of listing photos, such as virtual twilight
None of these receives your Google Calendar data, apart from hosting it.
How long we keep it
Order, invoice and media records are kept while the company that created them uses Acorn, and as long as needed for tax and legal records. Google data is handled as described above. Ask us and we will delete your personal information unless we are required to keep it.
Children
Acorn is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. If a change affects how we use Google data, we will ask for your consent again before it applies.
